Saudi Arabia issued PreQualification for Taif Sewage Treatment Plant

Saudi Arabia’s Water & Electricity LLC (WEC) issued the Request for Qualification for Taif Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
The Taif Sewage Treatment Plant will be located near the city of Taif, in the Makkah Province of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The total ultimate treatment capacity of the plant is up to 270,000 m3/day.

Earlier, during January-2019, 65 companies submitted their expression of interest.
WEC invited developers or developer consortium for the development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation, ownership, operation, maintenance and transfer of the Project, together with associated infrastructure and facilities.
Under a 25-year Sewage Treatment Agreement (STA) with WEC, the project company to be incorporated to develop the Project will treat the entire sewage capacity supplied by WEC. WEC’s obligations under the STA will be supported by a credit support agreement from the Government of KSA.
 The advisors on the Project are:
  • Mizuho Bank, Ltd. as Lead and Financial Adviser;
  • White & Case LLP as Legal Adviser; and
  • WS Atkins & Partners Overseas Engineering Consultants as Technical Adviser.
The last date of submission is 21st March 2019.
