L&T Submits the lowest bid of $93 million for Marjan 380kV Substation

Saudi Electricity Company announces the bid results for the project ”Construction of New Marjan 380kV Substation”.

The location of project is in Tanajib area, eastern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A total of thirteen (13) bidders has been submitted the proposals.

Indian based Construction company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has submitted the lowest bid.

L&T quoted the price of SAR 347.8 million (1$=3.75 SAR)

Project Description:

Saudi Aramco intends to develop Marjan Field Development project in Tanajib area. In order to feed the power supply to Saudi Aramco’s Gas plant, SEC issued the tender for Construction of Marjan 380kV Substation.

This Project will be interconnecting with Saudi Electricity Company’s grid.

The substation’s main scope of work includes 380kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 230kV GIS, 452.5/602.5/752.5MVA, 380/230/13.8kV Power Transformers, 13.8kV Switchgear, Protection & Control System, Substation Automation System (SAS), Telecommunication System, Electro-Mechanical and Civil works.

Project Scope of work also includes, installation of 230kV Cables between New Marjan 380kV Substation upto Saudi Aramco’s Tanajib Gas Plant, 230kV Substation.

Project completion period is 27 months. The project execution will be supervised and constructed in accordance with Saudi Electricity Company standards and specifications.

The contractor shall perform the project on lumpsum turnkey basis, includes the design, engineering, material procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, and all associated work and services until final handing over of the project.
