SEC re-tenders 132kV Malqaa Substation and cancelled Digital type

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) re tender for the “Construction of 132kV/13.8kV Malqaa Substation”.

The Project location is in Malqaa, Riyadh region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, During October 2019, SEC issued the tender with Digital Type Concept (read more). During December 2019, SEC receives the bids from four bidders (read more). Later, SEC announces that the same tender was cancelled.

Project Description:

Present project involves the construction a new indoor 132/13.8 kV Gas Insulated Substation, named as Al Malqaa Substation 8278.

The Substation consist of following major equipment:

  • 13.8kV Switchgear 
  • 500kVA, 13.8kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
  • HV/MV Power Cables and Terminations
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply
  • Surge Arresters
  • Control/Protection System
  • Substation Automation System (SAS)
  • Communication System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works

Installation, testing & commissioning of 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 50/67MVA, 132/13.8kV power transformers are included in Scope of Work. The material will be provided by SEC.

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 27 months from Contract Signing Date.

At present bid submission date is 16 July 2020.
