MEW Kuwait invites bid for 132kV OHTL Project

Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW), Kuwait issued the tender for “Supply and Installation of 132kV Over Head Lines feeding sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Salem Al Sabah Brigade (Previously KAZMA “B” ) with Electricity”.

The project involces the below scope of work:

One 132 kV D/C OHTL from the Existing Rawdatain ‘W’ 300/132/11kV Substation to Proposed Kathma ‘B’ 132/11kV Substation:

It is proposed to construct about 72 km of new 132kV double circuit, three phase overhead transmission line from RDTN ‘W’ substation to proposed Kathma ‘B’ 132/11kV substation in Mutla’a area using sing ACSR Zebra conductor per each phase of 400 sq.mm. Nominal cross sectional area and one OPGW conductor as a ground wire.

The works to be completed tested and handed over within Thirty (30) calendar months from the date of signing the contract

One 132kV D/C OHL from Existing Kathma ‘A’ Substation to Proposed Kathma ‘B’ substation

It is proposed to construct about 16km of one new 132kV double circuit three phase overhead transmission line between existing Kathma ‘A’ substation and proposed Kathma ‘B’ substation using single 400 sq.mm nominal area ACSR Zebra conductor per phase and one OPGW conductor.

The works to be completed tested and handed over within Twenty Four (24) calendar months from the date of signing the contract.

At present bid submission date is 14 February 2021.
