Dubai invite bids for Aquifer storage and recovery consultancy

Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), UAE issued the tender for Consultancy service for the stage 2 of Aquifer storage and recovery Project.

The project will consist of injection of desalinated seawater into the existing aquifer and is being designed and implemented to act as a contingency water supply source in case of any interruptions in water supply within the Emirate.

Earlier, during June 2021, DEWA announced that it is implementing a project to store 6 billion gallons of water in aquifers that can be retrieved when needed. This will provide the Emirate with a strategic reserve of over 50 million gallons of desalinated water per day in emergencies for 90 days, while ensuring the quality of the stored water remains unaffected by external factors.(read more)

Interested bidders can get complete bid documents upon the payment of tender fee of AED 2,100.

Bidders need to submit a tender security of AED 2.9 million along with the proposals valid for 150 days.

At present, bid submission date is 15 September 2021.
