Emirates Steel, UAE announced in a statement that it has awarded a general designer contract for the company’s new fully automated first-of-its-kind hot rolled coils (HRC) plant in the MENA region.
The Project has been awarded to Tata Consulting Engineers.
Under the 10-month agreement, both companies will carry out a comprehensive evaluation and study for all phases of the project.
The agreement will also highlight logistics and environmental issues, define the technical and solutions, and determine budgets and business cases.
Upon completion, the new plant, which has the lowest carbon footprint in the region, is set to raise the company’s production capacity to exceed 5 million tonnes per year.
