SEC invite bids for Saudi Jordan Interconnection Project

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) issued the tender for electrical interconnection  of Saudi Arabia and Jordan Countries.

As part of the project, Both countries will exchange total power of capacity 1000 MW. At present the bids was announced for 500 MW.

Project Scope of Work includes Construction of HVDC Converter Station, 400kV Gas Insulated Switchgear Substation and 400kV Over head Transmission Line (OHTL) towards Saudi Arabia side.

At present bid submission date is 01 March 2022.

Earlier during October 2021, Saudi Arabia, Egypt signs $1.8 billion electrical interconnection contract which has a capacity of 3,000 megawatts, with a 500 kV HVDC technology. (read more)
