Doosan Energy announced in a statement that it has signed a contract to build a combined heat and power plant Project in Saudi Arabia worth about 536.4 billion won (USD 384.9 million).
Doosan Energy mentioned that the contract was awarded from Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the developer, for the construction of the ‘Saudi Jafurah Combined Heat and Power Plant’.
Doosan ENERGY Scope of Works includes complete EPC of the project, which performs the entire process from design to equipment supply, installation, and test operation.
The Jafurah cogeneration plant will be built about 400 km east of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. It is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2025. After completion, it will produce 320 MW of electricity and 314 tons of steam per hour to supply electricity and heat to the nearby Jafurah gas field.
In February, Doosan signed a contract to build a casting and forging plant worth 1 trillion won, and in August, it succeeded in winning a contract to build a seawater desalination plant worth 840 billion won.
