Nama Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (PWP), Oman announces the launch of the Qualification process for interested developers through the issuance of the Request for Qualification (RFQ) document.
As per the notification, in line with the company’s ongoing commitment on ensuring the reliable and sustainable energy future and ensuring grid security for sultanate of Oman through a balanced mix of energy sources, PWP is planning to develop two combined cycle gas turbines power plants with a total capacity of 2,400 MW.
The Project will be developed in partnership with the Private sector. The Proposed location of the Power Plants will be in Misfah and Duqm.
Earlier, during December 2024, PWP issues the Expression of intrest for two independent power projects (IPPs) on a build, own and operate basis connected to the main interconnected system (MIS). (read more)
