Samsung C&T announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Free Zone Authority (QFZA) at the Ras Bufontas Business Innovation Park in Doha, Qatar.
The MoU outlines plans for joint investments and technological cooperation in sustainable infrastructure projects across Qatar.
QFZA is currently focused on developing three special economic zones near Hamad International Airport and port areas, aiming to build robust logistics, manufacturing, and technology infrastructure to foster long-term economic growth.
The two organizations agreed to explore extensive collaboration on future sustainable infrastructure projects, such as solar power plants and data centers, and develop specific strategies for implementation.
QFZA will handle land provision, infrastructure development, permitting, and legal, regulatory, and incentive support. Samsung C&T will contribute its expertise in project investment, infrastructure execution, and operation, sharing technological know-how to advance the projects.
Currently, Samsung C&T is solidifying its presence in Qatar through major projects including an 875MW solar power plant, LNG terminals, and water desalination complexes. The new partnership aims to further expand the company’s involvement in various infrastructure endeavors, reinforcing its strategic commitment to the Qatar market.
