Kuwait awards $253 million Shuwaikh Water Distribution Complex Project

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) of Kuwait has awarded a major infrastructure contract for the development of the existing Shuwaikh Water Distribution Complex, reinforcing the country’s commitment to strengthening its water supply networks.

The project, valued at KWD 77.7 million, has been awarded to Khalid Ali Al-Kharafi & Brothers Co., a leading Kuwaiti contracting firm with extensive experience in large-scale utility projects.

The scope of work covers the construction, completion, maintenance, and development of the existing Shuwaikh water distribution complex, in addition to all associated and supporting works.

Once completed, the project is expected to enhance the operational efficiency, reliability, and capacity of the water distribution system, supporting growing demand in Kuwait. This strategic investment aligns with MEWRE’s ongoing efforts to modernize critical infrastructure and ensure sustainable and secure water services across the country.
