Miahona Co., Saudi Arabia announces that it has received a letter from the Saudi Water Partnership Company announcing the selection as Preferred Bidder of Miahona-led Consortium for Arana Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) 25-year BOOT project (“the Project”) located in the Makkah province (the “Project”).
Miahona Company is the Lead Consortium member, with 35% share, alongside the Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (“Marafiq”) – technical member with 35% share, and Buhur for Investment Company (“Buhur”).
The total contract value for the Project (excluding potential expansion) is estimated, over 3 billion SAR.
The Project scope includes design, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, completion, testing, ownership, operation and maintenance, handover, and transfer upon the expiry of the STA, of a new sewage treatment plant, having a treatment capacity of 250,000 m3/day, and of the associated facilities, including:
- Water Special Facility,
- TSE Special Facility,
- Outfall Delivery Facility
The Project scope also includes the development of Arana ISTP auxiliaries and interfaces, as follows:
- connection to the Arana Plant TSE Re-use Delivery Point,
- connection to the existing electrical substation,
- sludge treatment infrastructure, and handling, transportation and delivery of beneficial-use sludge to a designated disposal area.
- Water Special Facility and Outfall Delivery Facility
Furthermore, the Project includes the potential to expand its treatment capacity to up to 500,000 m³/day, subject to SWPC’s request.
With this scale, Arana ISTP is set to become one of the Kingdom’s largest and most advanced sewage treatment and TSE facilities. It will showcase cutting-edge technology and play a pivotal role in advancing the circular economy and supporting the environmental ambitions of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
