ACTS has marked a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s fire safety landscape with the successful hosting of the ACTS Fire Safety Forum. The forum convened leading industry stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, present advanced fire testing and safety technologies, and discuss key challenges and regulatory developments shaping the future of fire safety and compliance in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region.
In conjunction with the forum, the official opening of the Reaction-to-Fire Testing facility at the ACTS-Fire laboratory in Dammam took place.
The reaction to fire test is conducted to assess the combustibility and ignitability/flammability of building and construction materials, i.e., their contribution to fire development and spread, as well as smoke emission.
Accordingly, the Reaction-to-fire testing is a mandatory requirement in the technical codes, standards, and regulations of the construction sector.
Through initiatives such as the ACTS Fire Safety Forum and the launch of advanced testing capabilities, ACTS continues to play a vital role in elevating fire safety standards and supporting the Kingdom’s vision for safer, more resilient built environments.
