KEC International has announced the successful completion and energisation of the 380 kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line connecting HODN PV BSP and TEG BSP in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The project spans approximately 103 kilometres and includes the installation of 239 transmission towers. It is regarded as one of the most technically challenging transmission line projects in the region, reflecting KEC International’s strong execution capabilities and engineering expertise.
The project route traversed highly demanding terrain, including mountainous stretches, volcanic rock formations, and hard rock foundations. Additional complexities arose from multiple complex crossings and altitude corrections reaching up to 1,600 metres above sea level. These challenges required meticulous planning, advanced engineering solutions, and disciplined execution to ensure safe and timely delivery.
The successful energisation of the line marks a significant milestone, supporting the Kingdom’s growing power infrastructure and renewable energy integration. KEC International remains committed to delivering high-quality power transmission projects that contribute to reliable energy networks and sustainable development across the region.
