Fertiglobe, Covestro, and TA’ZIZ have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic cooperation across the ammonia and nitric acid value chains, marking a significant step in advancing sustainable industrial collaboration.
The MoU aims to assess near-term supply opportunities from Fertiglobe to key Covestro sites globally while exploring long-term prospects for low-carbon and green ammonia production and infrastructure solutions. This initiative aligns with global efforts to transition toward cleaner industrial practices and supports enhanced cooperation across international markets, including the UAE, China, and the United States.
Following XRG’s acquisition of Covestro in December 2025 and the integration of Fertiglobe and Covestro within XRG’s global chemicals platform, the agreement strengthens the potential for expanded supply chain collaboration.
Representatives from all parties highlighted the strategic importance of secure ammonia supply and shared infrastructure in supporting operational flexibility and advancing sustainability goals. This partnership underscores the growing role of integrated global cooperation in achieving lower-carbon industrial growth.
