Kuwait’s Q8 and OQ Group Forge Strategic Petrochemical Partnership in Duqm

Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) and Oman’s OQ Group have signed a strategic agreement to develop a major petrochemical complex in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the Kuwait Oil and Gas Show (KOGS 2026) in Kuwait under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah

The collaboration with OQ underscores both partners’ commitment to advancing a strategically important venture that supports regional cooperation, economic diversification, and the goals of Oman Vision 2040. OQ Group CEO Ashraf Al-Mamari noted the project’s significance in expanding petrochemical production capabilities while enhancing bilateral economic ties.

Q8 CEO Shafi Al-Ajmi emphasized that the project will capitalize on Duqm’s strategic location, modern infrastructure, and competitive feedstock advantages, paving the way for increased investment and long-term growth in the joint energy sector.

The agreement marks a meaningful step in strengthening energy sector cooperation between Kuwait and Oman, reflecting mutual ambitions to support regional industrial development and economic sustainability.
