Global EPC firm, Linxon Announces that it has successfully energized the Taif East Governorate 380 kV expansion project, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s power infrastructure and supporting its clean energy ambitions. The Project location is in Taif, Western region of Saudi Arabia.
The project involved the turnkey expansion of the existing BSP, including full engineering design and integration of advanced high-voltage Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) technology from Hitachi Energy, the installation of line reactors, and all related control and protection works needed. This upgrade enhances grid reliability, operational efficiency, and scalability, providing a cost-effective and space-saving solution that prepares the network for future renewable energy integration.
The energization of TEG BSP plays a vital role in enabling the evacuation of additional green power and directly contributes to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 target. The project reflects Linxon’s expertise in delivering complex substation solutions that combine advanced technology with environmental responsibility, ensuring a resilient and future-ready power network for Saudi Arabia.
