MACE Qatar, in joint venture with SUEZ SAS, has officially launched operations under the Drainage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Framework for the Qatar West Catchment Zone, awarded by the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’. The collaboration brings together global expertise and local capability to support one of Qatar’s most strategically important infrastructure programmes.
Under the framework, the MACE Qatar – SUEZ SAS JV is responsible for the operation and maintenance of extensive wastewater and drainage assets, including 1,375 km of foul sewer networks, 1,351 km of surface and groundwater networks, and 213 km of treated water networks. The scope also covers the Doha West Sewage Treatment Works, associated treatment facilities, and 43 pumping stations across the catchment area.
The framework forms part of Ashghal’s wider USD 1.12 billion nationwide O&M programme aimed at enhancing network resilience, service efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Leveraging advanced engineering solutions, smart monitoring systems, and international best practices, the JV aims to set new benchmarks in operational excellence.
MACE Qatar and SUEZ SAS expressed their commitment to supporting Ashghal’s long-term vision and contributing to the State of Qatar’s sustainable infrastructure development goals.
