Elsewedy Electric PSP Achieves First Concrete Pour Milestone on Saudi Synchronous Condenser Projects

Elsewedy Electric PSP, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, has successfully completed the first pour of plain concrete at the Alghat, Al Rass, and Alkahfa project sites, marking a key early milestone in the Kingdom’s landmark Synchronous Condenser Projects.

This achievement highlights the strong coordination, technical precision, and efficient execution demonstrated by project teams operating across multiple locations. The milestone has been positively acknowledged by the client, reinforcing confidence in the project’s delivery strategy and establishing a solid foundation as construction activities progress across the remaining sites.

The Synchronous Condenser Projects represent a significant advancement in grid stabilization technology within the region. Once completed, the projects will position Elsewedy Electric PSP as the first EPC contractor in the Middle East and Africa to deliver infrastructure of this scale and complexity. Spanning seven strategic locations and incorporating 18 high-performance synchronous condenser units, the development will provide up to 2,060 MVA of short-circuit power.

This enhanced capacity will play a critical role in strengthening grid resilience, improving voltage regulation, and supporting the integration of renewable energy into Saudi Arabia’s 380 kV national transmission network.

Elsewedy Electric PSP remains committed to maintaining construction momentum while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
