Bahrain announces the bid results for 66kV Substation Package (Phase-2)

Bahrain’s utility company, Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) announces the bid results for 66kV Substation package, which is part of 220kV & 66kV Transmission development (2012-2016), Phase-2.
The Project is funding by Saudi Fund Authority and implemented & Supervised by EWA.
As part of the package, there will be fourteen (14) Substations, namely: Eskan Lawzi loop, Eskan Sanad city, East Hidd A city, East Hidd B city, East Hidd C city, Jau city, Askar city, AMAS C city, AMAS D city, AMAS E city, AMAS F city, Eskan Ramli “A”, King Abdulla Medical City, Juzr Hawar A.
Voltage level of above substations are 66/11kV.
Scope of Work includes Design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of FOURTEEN (14), 66/11kV substations on lump sum turnkey basis. Scope include Substation Switchgear, Power Transformers, Control and Protection systems, Telecommunication systems, HV cable between switchgear and transformers, Auxiliary Power Supply system, Substation Civil Works and Associated Building Services

Seven (7), Saudi based Contractors has submitted the proposals.

Earlier, during 2017 EWA issued a tender to construct two (2) new 220 kV substation, associated 220 kV cable feeders, fourteen (14) new 66 kV substations and associated 66 kV cable feeders in order to provide electricity to a number of nationally important strategic housing projects. This development by EWA is known as “220 kV & 66 kV Transmission Development (2012-2016) – Phase 2”
