Dubai planned to build new 400kV Substations

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) revealed its future program to build new 400kV Substation over the next three years.

As per the report, a total of five (5) 400kV substation will be constructed across Dubai. The allocated budget for these substations is AED 2.2 billion.

DEWA’s yearly power demand is increasing at a rate of 3.34 % . DEWA’s total production capacity reached 11,100 MW during the year 2019, while the peak demand for electricity was recorded at 8,507 MW in the year 2018, compared to 8,232 MW in 2017.

As per the report, DEWA allocated a total budget of AED 86 billion towards Dubai’s energy sector over the next five years.

Also, DEWA stated that to increase its 132kV network, it has plan to construct new 68 substations over the next 3 years. The allocated budget for these substations is AED 8 billion.
