AlSharif Group secures an order of $98 million for 380kV Transmission line project

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project “Construction of 380kV Double Circuit Transmission line between Najran University Substation and Al Faraa Substation ”

The Project location is in Southern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project has been awarded to Saudi based construction company, AlSharif Group for Contracting and Development (ASG).

The value of signed contract is SAR 367 million.

Earlier, during August 2019, SEC announces the bid results for the above project. A total of eight bidders has submitted the proposals. After technical and commercial evaluation, the project has been awarded to contractor.

Project Description:

Project Scope of Work includes, Design and construction of three (3) 380kV Double Circuit (D/C) Overhead Transmission Line between Najran University 380kV Substation and Al Faraa 380kV Substation.

The approximate route length of 380kV Tranmission line is 232.10km.

The type of towers will be Lattice D/C F-Series and four conductors per phase of 795KCMIL will be utilized as phase conductor.

ACSR/AW “Condor” type conductors per phase, along with OPGW and Optic Fiber cables will be utilized as part of the scope of work.

The contractor shall perform the project on lumpsum turnkey basis, includes the design, engineering, material procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, and all associated work and services until final handing over of the project.

The project handing over will be in fourth quarter of 2021.

SEC recently awarded the substation portion to south Korean construction company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
