China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) announced in a statement that, the 2.6 GW Photovoltaic Power Plant Project in Al Shuaibah, Saudi Arabia, undertaken by China Energy Construction, held a temporary construction commencement ceremony, marking the full launch of the project and officially entering the fast track of contract compliance. Project owner ACWA Power Company officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony and delivered a speech.
The relevant person in charge of Energy China International Engineering Company stated that Energy China will strictly abide by various laws and regulations of Saudi Arabia, abide great importance to safety and quality management, fulfill the requirements of the project contract on schedule.
The project is located in the Al shuaibah area of Jeddah City, Makkah Province, Saudi Arabia, and is jointly undertaken by China Energy Construction International Group, Guangdong Thermal Power and Northwest Institute.
The project adopts the world’s most advanced N-type double-sided photovoltaic modules and flat single-axis automatic tracking brackets.
As an important part of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” new energy plan, the project will maximize the use of localized components, provide 3,000 local jobs, reduce carbon emissions by about 3.12 million tons per year, and accelerate the transformation of Saudi energy structure and green low-cost carbon development, statement mentioned.
