SEPCO 3, the main EPC contractor of Taiba 1 Power Plant in Saud Arabia announces that, it had successfully installed the first gas turbine of the project and positioned, marking the successful completion of the first major milestone of the project
This was also the first successful installation of a 7HA.03 gas turbine in the Saudi region.
Earlier, during June 2024, GE Vernova awarded the contract to provide six 7HA.03 and two 7E.03 Gas Turbines and servicing for 21 years for Taiba 1 and Qassim 1 Power Plants. (read more)
The statement mentioned that, to ensure the smooth hoisting of the gas turbine, the project meticulously planned and scientifically prepared, closely monitoring every link including the production scheduling and shipment of the gas turbine. Before the hoisting operation began, the project carefully carried out relevant preparatory work such as the inspection and acceptance of the gas turbine foundation, the acceptance of the pre-hoisting work, the review of the hoisting plan, and the inspection of the hoisting equipment. During the hoisting process, all specialties worked closely together and cooperated actively. The entire hoisting process was safe and orderly, and the gas turbine was successfully lifted to the predetermined position with the close cooperation of all specialties, thus completing the hoisting task successfully.
The successful hoisting and positioning of the No.1 gas turbine has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent installation work of the gas turbines.
