Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Company, the master developer behind the iconic Diriyah giga project, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Kakao Mobility, a global leader in innovative mobility solutions.
The MoU sets the stage for developing and deploying cutting-edge mobility technologies within the first phase of Diriyah, a flagship sub-project under the broader Diriyah master plan.
This collaborative partnership aims to leverage cutting-edge smart parking technologies and develop advanced digital platforms that enhance seamless and efficient mobility for Diriyah’s residents and visitors. By integrating the latest global innovations in the field, the initiative supports Diriyah’s transformation into a premier global cultural and tourism destination, with a target of attracting over 50 million visits annually by 2030.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate on conducting a thorough and independent assessment to work on smart parking infrastructure development and on supporting digital platforms at selected sites within the first phase of the Diriyah project. This will include integrating digital parking technologies, seamless data connectivity, optimizing user experience, and designing operational workflows.
The MoU sets the stage for a phased rollout of innovative mobility services in Diriyah, beginning with a targeted smart parking pilot. Guided by the pilot’s success, market needs, and Diriyah’s strategic vision, this partnership will expand to include advanced mobility solutions. Kakao Mobility will play a key role in driving development, sharing expertise, and ensuring seamless collaboration.
