Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy, Kuwait receives the Bids for the Phase 4 expansion of Sabiya Power Plant.
Three bidders has submitted the proposals. Kuwait based Alghanim International General Trading and Contracting Company W.L.L submits the lowest bid. The company submits the bid of KWD 516.8 million.
Sabiya Power Plant is located in Al Jahra, Kuwait.
Project Scope of Works includes Supply, installation, operation and maintenance of combined cycle gas turbine units to increase electrical power at the site of the Sabiya Power and Water Distillation Station with a capacity of 900 MW, under phase 4 of the expansion.
The Phase 3 of the Project having Capacity 935MW was executed by main EPC contractor, Alghanim International during the year 2020. The contract value was USD 439 million.
Phase 2 upgradation contract was awarded to Alghanim International. This project aims to increase the production capacity of the Sabiya Power Station by about 250 MW. (read more)
Recently, the Ministry awarded the maintenance contract to Malaysia’s Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), through its wholly owned subsidiary TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB REMACO). (read more)
