Doosan Enerbility awarded $88.5 million Combined-Cycle Power Plant Equipment Contract in Qatar

Doosan Enerbility has awarded an order for key equipment for a combined-cycle power plant in Qatar.

The total value of the contract is approximately KRW 130 billion ($88.5 million)

The company announced, that it has signed a contract with Samsung C&T to supply major equipment for the Facility E gas combined-cycle power plant in Qatar. The large-scale project involves the construction of a 2,400MW power plant located about 10 kilometers southeast of Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Under the agreement, Doosan Enerbility will supply two 430MW-class steam turbines, two generators, and auxiliary equipment, with deliveries scheduled to be completed by 2029.

This marks Doosan Enerbility’s second contract win in Qatar this year, following a KRW 290 billion peaking unit project secured in March. The company has also continued to expand its footprint across the Middle East, having signed contracts worth a combined KRW 340 billion to supply steam turbines and generators for two gas combined-cycle power plant expansion projects in Saudi Arabia—the Ghazlan 2 Expansion and the Hajar Expansion.

Through consecutive contract wins in Qatar and expanded supply agreements across Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern markets, Doosan Enerbility is strengthening its position in the global gas combined-cycle power generation market, statement mentioned.
