Italy’s Ecoprogetti installs 400 MW PV Production line in Oman

Ecoprogetti, the Italian leader in turnkey photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing solutions, announces the successful installation and commissioning of a fully automated 400 MW PV module production line in Salalah, Oman. This strategic deployment marks a significant milestone in expanding Oman’s solar manufacturing capacity and reinforces Ecoprogetti’s commitment to supporting the rapid growth of renewable energy infrastructure across the Middle East.

The new production line, delivered to American Advanced Clean Energy (AACE), represents Ecoprogetti’s second major PV manufacturing installation in the Sultanate, strengthening the company’s position as a key technology partner in the region. Designed and built entirely in Italy, the Salalah facility integrates advanced assembly technologies for both Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) and Heterojunction (HJT) solar modules. The system features full automation across all stages of module production, from stringing and lay-up to lamination, framing, testing, and quality inspection, ensuring high productivity and consistent quality.

“This project underlines our long-term commitment to Oman and the broader Gulf region,” said Laura Sartore, CEO of Ecoprogetti. “With two fully operational manufacturing plants now covering both northern and southern Oman, we are proud to support the expansion of the local PV value chain and contribute toward Oman’s vision of a more sustainable energy future.”

AACE, a U.S.-headquartered photovoltaic manufacturer with facilities in Oman, will leverage the country’s Free Trade Agreement with the United States to export high-quality PV modules into the North American market, enhancing global solar supply chains with competitively manufactured products.

Ecoprogetti’s expanded footprint in Oman now gives it a majority share of the Sultanate’s PV module manufacturing market. Across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the company has installed the largest number of PV production lines, establishing a robust regional presence that includes facilities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
