UAE’s ADNOC Offshore has awarded a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract valued at $942 million to McDermott International, Ltd, marking a significant step in strengthening production capacity and advancing digital innovation at the Nasr field. The project will increase Nasr’s production capacity to 115,000 barrels per day, reinforcing ADNOC’s commitment to efficient and responsible energy development.
Nasr is one of ADNOC’s most advanced digital offshore fields, and the new contract will support the expansion of artificial intelligence–enabled operations to further optimize performance, safety and reliability. The scope of work includes the engineering, procurement and construction of topsides and associated infrastructure, as well as the installation of a high-speed subsea cable connection that will enable real-time data transfer and enhanced digital integration across field operations.
This award represents the latest milestone in ADNOC’s broader strategy to deliver an oil production capacity of 5 million barrels per day by 2027, while continuing to meet the world’s long-term energy demand in a responsible and sustainable manner. By integrating advanced technologies such as AI, ADNOC aims to maximize value from its resources while reducing operational complexity and emissions intensity.
Importantly, more than 55% of the total contract value is expected to flow back into the UAE economy through ADNOC’s In-Country Value (ICV) program, supporting local businesses, job creation and industrial growth.
