Saudi Arabia’s MODON signs the substation project for $27.4 million

Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) awarded the substation project “Construction of MODON 380/132/33kV BSP (Phase 1) in Waad Al-Shamal”. The Project has been signed by (please subscribe to view more details) construction company

Earlier, during October 2018, techno-commercial offers was submitted by EPCs.

The value of the contract is SAR 102.9 million (1$=3.75 SAR)

The Project will introduce a new 132kV/33kV Substation, (with the provision as future 380/132/33kV BSP) with the interconnection of existing Waad Al-Shamal 380/132/33kV BSP for creating a feeding arrangement to the new Substation and meet the power supply request from Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon) at Waad Al-Shamal area.

Project Scope of work includes 132kV GIS, 33kV Switchgear, 80/100MVA, 132/33kV Power transformers, related Metering, Protection, Control and Communication. The new Substation shall be equipped with Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the Power Control Center (PCC) through SCADA system, Communication System and gateway. The monitoring, Control and Protection system shall be as per IEC 61850 Standard based on Substation Automation System. The substation shall be provided with Class-3 facility according to the HICS DIRECTIVES 2017
