Alfanar Projects Awarded Jubail–Buraidah IWTP 380kV Substation Project

Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company (MGC) has announced the award of a major construction contract for a 380kV substation as part of the Jubail–Buraidah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project (IWTP).

The contract has been awarded to alfanar projects, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor in the Kingdom. The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Saudi Water Authority, reflecting the strategic importance of the project to the Kingdom’s water infrastructure development.

This award builds on MGC’s earlier announcement in June 2025, when the company awarded the EPC contract for the Jubail–Buraidah IWTP Project, marking a key milestone in the project’s overall execution.

The Jubail–Buraidah IWTP Project represents a significant advancement in water infrastructure across the Al-Qassim and Eastern Province. Designed to meet the growing demand for potable water, the project will deliver a transmission capacity of 650,000 cubic meters per day through a pipeline spanning approximately 587 kilometers.

In addition to the pipeline, the project includes the development of critical water storage infrastructure, comprising six strategic storage tanks at Al-Shamasiyah and three at Al-Jubail. Together, these facilities will provide a total storage capacity of 1,634,500 cubic meters, ensuring a reliable and efficient water supply to both regions.
