On 10-June-2019, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) invited the qualified companies to submit their expressions of interest (EOI) for the Hassayan Independent Water Project (IWP).
The project will be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology.
The location of the plant will be in Hassayan area, approximately 55km from Dubai.
The developer scope of work includes, development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of the desalination plant of 120 Million Imperial Gallons per Day (MIGD) potable water capacity together with associated infrastructure and facilities.
DEWA will purchase the output and entire capacity of the project, under a long term Water Purchase Agreement (WPA).
Earlier, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has appointed a consortium of companies including Ernst & Young (E&Y), CMS, and WSP as their advisors for the IWP.
The project is expected to commence production in Q3 2023
Interested developers can submit the EOI by 09 July 2019.
