Jacobs secures the deal for engineering services of Saudi shipyard project

US firm Jacobs has been selected for engineering services of Packages 4, 5 and 6 of the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services project.

The project has been awarded by Chinese firm, SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation. The location of the project is in Ras Al Khair, eastern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The shipyard complex covers an area of 4.3 square kilometers. Once the project completed, it will be the largest in the region.

The facility will provide combination of offshore structures fabrication, new ship building and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

Jacobs scope of work includes detailed design services to the project including piers, dry-docks, ship lift, buildings, supporting infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications and security systems.
