Oman’s Galfar Wins subcontract of Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park

Oman based construction company, Galfar Engineering & Contracting has awarded a subcontract for Civil works related to Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park.

The Project has been awarded by China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corp (CPECC).

The value of the project is $16 million (OMR 6.1 million).

Galfar Scope of Work includes pre-site preparation, grading, levelling, earthworks, and blasting activities.

The duration of the project is around nine (9) months.

Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park includes the construction of storage tanks across five phases and covers an area of 12.53km.

Oman Oil Company subsidiary Oman Tank Terminal Company (OTTCO) is developing the Ras Markaz crude oil storage park at Ras Markaz, located approximately 70km south of the Port of Duqum, Oman

Ras Markaz terminal is being developed in five phases. The total investment for all five phases of the terminal’s development is estimated to be approximately $4.6bn.

Upon completion in 2020, the development is expected to have a total capacity of 200 million barrels of crude oil.
