NESMA secured a deal of $21.2 million for 110/13.8kV Substation in Makkah

Saudi Arabia’s NESMA Electric, a subsidiary of NESMA Holding signed the project “Construction of Arafat-3 110/13.8kV Substation”.

The project has been awarded by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). The value of signed contract is SAR 79.9 million (1$=3.75 SAR).

The location of the projects in Arafat, Makkah, Western region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, during 2016 a total of seven bidders has submitted their proposals. After techno-commercial evaluation, the project has been awarded.

Project Description:

Project scope of work includes 110kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 50/67 MVA, 110/13.8kV Power Transformers, 13.8kV Switchgear, 7MVAr Capacitor Banks, Protection & Control System, Substation Automation System (SAS), telecommunication System, Electro-Mechanical Works and Civil Works.

Project Scope of Work also includes 110kV Overhead Transmission line and 110kV Underground Cable Works.

The project aims to meet the expected increase in population and pilgrims in Makkah.

Under the terms of the contract, NESMA will perform the project on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, material procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, and all associated work and services until final handing over of the project.

Total Completion period of the project is 25 months.
