SEC issued 132/13.8kV Substation tenders for Al Kharj Area

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) issued new tender for “Construction of Howtah  Bani Tameem 132/13.8kV Substation (8720)”

The Project locations will be in Al Kharj area, Central region of Saudi Arabia.

Project Description:

Project involves the construction a new indoor 132/13.8kV Gas Insulated Substation, arranged in double bus single breaker configuration.

The Substation shall be equipped with IEC 61850 standards based technically and economically optimized Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the SEC’s Power Control Center (PCC) through SCADA and Communication.

Substation consist of following major equipment:

  • 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) – Will be provided by SEC
  • 13.8 Switchgear
  • 50/67MVA, 132/13.8kV power transformers
  • 500kVA, 13.8kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
  • Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System
  • HV/MV Power Cables and Terminations,
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
  • Surge Arresters
  • Control/Protection System,
  • Substation Automation System (SAS)
  • Communication System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
  • Security System

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation works in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor need to achieve the final acceptance of the work within 27 months from the awarded date of contract.

At present, SEC sets the bid submission date as 03 February 2020.
