Kuwait receives the lowest bid of $11 million for 300kV Cables Project

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) announces the bid results for the project “Supply and Installation of 300kV Underground Cables to connect the FRRD’W’ and SDIQ’W’ substations”.

A total of five bidders has submitted the proposals. Kuwait based Construction Company, Return Investment Company for General Trading has submitted the lowest bid.

The Construction Company has submitted the price of KWD 3,389,960 (1 KWD = 3.29297 USD)

Project Description:

Project scope of work involves Supply and installation of one 300 kV cable circuits in concrete trough each comprising six 1600 sq.mm. 1 Core 300 kV XLPE cable (2 cable/ph), one bonding and earthing cables, and one optical fiber cable (UGOP) containing 48 fibers (G655) including all accessories, (12) SF6 indoor sealing end terminations, joint pits, road crossing, cable cover tiles, cable protection net, warning tapes, link boxes.

Basic route length of circuit is 3100 m. Total Length of 300kV, 1600 Sq.mm will be 18,600m. Fiber Optic Cable length is 3100 m.

Project Scope of work also involves, removal of Two 132 kV cable circuits between FRRD’AW’ substation and SDIQ’W’ substation. The route length of cable is 3100m.

The period of the contract will be 36 months starting from signing the contract. MEW will issue the final certificate after the completion of the guarantee period of 15 months and fulfilment of all contractual requirements.
