L&T Submits the lowest bid of $121.7 million for Kuwait’s Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery Substation

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announces the bid results for the project “Replacing old and worn out high voltage substation at Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery”.

A total of six bidders has submitted the proposals. Indian based Construction Company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) through its Kuwait subsidiary, JSG Group has submitted the lowest bid.

L&T, JSG Group submitted the price of KWD 36,990,000 (1 KWD = 3.29268 USD).

Earlier, during July 2019, KNPC invites the bids to eight shortlisted Contractor.

The Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery is now being modernized as part of the $ 12 billion clean fuel project. The project includes the expansion and modernization of oil refineries in Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah.

Once the project completed, it will increase the refining capacity of crude oil to more than 936 thousand barrels per day compared to presnt capacity of 736 thousand barrels per day.
