Developer issued the tender for 380kV substations at NEOM Helios Green Fuels Project

Developers of NEOM Helios Green Fuels Project issued the RFP for 380kV Substation and 380kV Transmission line package.

Earlier, During July 2020, Air Products, in conjunction with ACWA Power and NEOM, announced in a statement, the signing of an agreement for world-scale green hydrogen based ammonia production facility powered by renewable energy.

The value of signed agreement was $5 billion.

The project, which will be equally owned by the three partners, will be sited in NEOM, located in the north west corner of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project will include over 4 GW of renewable power that will generate from solar, wind and storage system. (read more)

In order to feed the Power Supply to the Project, three 380kV Substation has been proposed:

  • 380kV Solar PV Substation
  • 380kV Wind farm Substation
  • 380kV Load Substation

In addition to the above, 380kV Over head Transmission line of route length of more than 200km will be interconnected among the above substation.

Each of the above Substation consist of 380kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Medium Voltage Switchgear, Power Transformer, Station Service Transformers, HV/MV Power Cables &Terminations, AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply, Control/Protection System, Substation Automation System (SAS), Communication System, Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System, Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works.
