L&T Submits the lowest bid of $55.6million for 300kV Substation in Kuwait

Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW), Kuwait received the bidders proposal for the project “Supply And Installation Of SHPT “W” 300kV Substation”.

The Substation location will be in Al-Sabah Medical District, Kuwait.

Four bidders has submitted the proposlas. India based construction firm. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has submitted the lowest bid.

L&T submitted the price of KWD 16,992,000 (USD 55,602,349).

SHPT “W” 300KV Substation, Kuwait:

Project scope of work involves the construction of 300/132/33kV Gas Insulated Substation.

Following are the major equipment of the project:

  • 275/300 KV double busbar totally enclosed, metal clad, SF6 gas insulated switchgear
  • 132/145 KV double basbar totally enclosed, metal clad, SF6 gas insulated switchgear
  • 300 MVA 300/132/33 KV power transformers
  • 33kV, 45 MVAR shunt Reactors
  • 33 kV switchgear
  • 11 kV switchgear
  • 30 MVA, 132/11.5 KV power transformers
  • 1000 kVA 11/0.433 KV cast resign station transformers
  • HV/MV Power Cables and Terminations,
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
  • Control/Protection System
  • Communication System
  • Air conditioning System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation and cable works in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
