Samsung Engineering awarded $653m plant deal from AGIC Saudi Arabia

Samsung Engineering, South Korea announced in a statement that it was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Advanced Global Investment Company (AGIC), Saudi Arabia for PDH (Propane Dehydration) plant and associated UTOS (Utilities & Offsites) facilities

The value of signed contract is $653 million.

The Project locations is in Jubail Industrial City II, eastern region of Saudi Arabia.

The contract ceremony was held in a non-face-to-face manner through an online video conference between South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Khalifa Abdullatif Al Mulhem, Chairman of APC and Mr. Sungan Choi, President and CEO of Samsung Engineering attended the contract ceremony.

The PDH plant, which forms part of AGIC’s integrated PDH-PP complex project, will have a total capacity of 843,000 tonnes/year of propylene, statement said.

The Plant and UTOS are expected to be completed in 2024.

Earlier, during April 2020, Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Petrochemical Company has signed an agreement with South Korean company SK Gas for constructing and operating propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) plants.(read more)
