Bahrain received bids for 3MW F1 circuit solar PV project

Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), Bahrain received the bidders proposals for the Bahrain International Circuit, F1 Grid-Tied Solar PV car park shades Project.

Following five bidders has submitted the proposals:

  • International IREC Energy W.L.L
  • Aradous Energy Generation Company
  • Esmaely Lenzohm Electrical Co. W.L.L
  • Down Town Construction Company W.L.L
  • Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo W.L.L

The priced bid will announced after technical evolution of the received proposals.

Project scope of works includes Build Own Operate and Maintain (BOOM) a minimum capacity of 3 MWac grid-tied solar PV power plant car park shades at the Bahrain International Circuit for a 20-Year period Contract.

According to BIC authorities, this new project is expected to deliver enough energy to power the entire Formula 1 race weekend and support Bahrain’s commitment to increase renewable energy use in the kingdom and F1’s plan to have net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

It will help reduce the venue’s carbon footprint and generate significant savings on overall energy costs.

The tender was issued by SEA during May 2021.
