SENET awarded Moyeath Cu-Zn project in Saudi Arabia

SENET, South Africa (a wholly owned subsidiary of DRA Global) announced in a statement that it has awarded the EPCM contract for the design and execution of the Moyeath Cu-Zn project located in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Project was awarded by Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Co. (AMAK).

AMAK is the pioneer private mining company of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, producing copper, zinc in concentrate and gold and silver since 2012.

Moyeath is a third major orebody (together with Saadah and Al Houra) discovered in the immediate vicinity to AMAK underground mines.

The Moyeath orebody is a high-grade copper (Cu)- Zinc (Zn) volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit.

The 400,000 t/a ROM flotation process plant will produce copper and zinc concentrates.

Filtered tailings will be trucked to an existing dry stacking area operated by AMAK handling tailings from their Al Masane and Guyan process plants.

The ore is a high-grade Cu-Zn ore (typical VMS type orebody) with relatively lower content of copper and substantial gold and silver content.

Preliminary test works showed that it is possible to produce saleable copper and zinc concentrates and most of the gold and silver report to flotation concentrates.

The mineralogy of the Moyeath orebody is complex and requires a similarly complex approach to produce copper and zinc concentrates at favorable recoveries and saleable concentrate grades, statement said.
