Saudi Arabia awards 60 new public schools Contract

HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, has witnessed the signing ceremony of the contract for the second group project of the initiative to strengthen partnership with the private sector.

The initiative aims to build and maintain 60 public schools in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah within the path of (construction, maintenance, and transformation).

This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s implementation of the Public-Private Partnership Enhancement Program for the provision of educational buildings, which is part of the privatization program, one of the programs of Vision 2030.

The contract was signed by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, and the CEO of TBC Tatweer Buildings Company, Eng. Fahd Ibrahim Al-Hammad, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment Vision, Mohammed Abdullah Abu Nayyan.

The project accommodates more than 50,000 students in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. The implementation will be in partnership with the relevant authorities that have supported the partnership projects with the private sector represented by the Ministry of Finance, the National Center for Privatization, and the Spending Efficiency and the Governmental Projects Authority.

Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz was also briefed on an introductory board about the projects of the Ministry of Education, and his Highness watched an introductory film on the educational buildings project in Madinah.

His Highness, the Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, noted the great support and interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince in education and its development, in addition to preparing educational facilities to constitute an optimal educational environment. His Highness directed his thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Education for his continuous follow-up to the completion of educational buildings and the achievement of the goals of the “Tibah without rented buildings” project, which this project will achieve, God willing.

The Ministry of Education has expanded its partnerships with the private sector to contribute to the development and improvement of the educational environment, the advancement of the private sector in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the promotion of investment opportunities in infrastructure in the educational sector, the provision of safe, high-quality, advanced and sustainable educational facilities. In addition to the assignment of construction and facilities management to the private sector in a way that enhances and focuses on the educational role of the Ministry, and reflects positively on students and all employees of the sector. As a result, it will achieve a quantum leap in raising the quality of the educational environment and the efficiency of educational facilities in accordance with the best international practices, which contributes to raising educational outcomes.

The contract signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Vice Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation, His Excellency the Acting Deputy Minister of Education, His Excellency the Mayor of Al-Madinah Region, CEO of Al-Medina Region Development Authority, Eng. Fahd Al-Buliheshi. In addition to number of senior officials of the Ministry of Education, and the Director of the Education Department in Madinah Region Mr. Nasser Al-Abdul Karim.
