Bahrain announces the bid results for High Voltage Cables Project (Phase-2)

Bahrain’s utility company, Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) announces the bid results for 220kV & 66kV Feeder Cables package, which is part of 220kV & 66kV Transmission development (2012-2016), Phase-2.
 The Project is funding by Saudi Fund Authority and implemented & Supervised by EWA.
As part of the package, there will be 220kV Cable works between the two (2) 220kV substation and 66kV cables between the fourteen (14) 66kV substations
Scope of Work includes Design, supply, installation, jointing, testing and maintenance of 220kV and 66kV power cables, Fiber Optic Cables and accessories, associated civil works. Estimated circuit length of 220kV Cables and 66kV Cables are 47kM & 110kM respectively
Six (6), Saudi based Contractors has submitted the proposals.

Earlier, during 2017 EWA issued a tender to construct two (2) new 220 kV substation, associated 220 kV cable feeders, fourteen (14) new 66 kV substations and associated 66 kV cable feeders in order to provide electricity to a number of nationally important strategic housing projects. This development by EWA is known as “220 kV & 66 kV Transmission Development (2012-2016) – Phase 2”
