Bin Omairah submits the lowest bid of $13.8 million for Lawzi Housing Project’s Access Roads

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MOW) announces the bid results for the “construction of Lawzi Public Private Partnership (PPP) Housing Access Roads”.

Earlier, during August 2019, ministry received the proposals from ten bidders. After technical and commercial evolution, proposals of five bidders was shortlisted.

Saudi based construction company, Bin Omairah Contracting Company has submitted the lowest bid.

Bin Omairah has submitted the prices of BHD 5,196,580.105 (1 BHD = 2.65957 USD).

Project Description:

The Project scope of works comprise highway construction works approximately 4.8km, 4 at-grade signalized junctions, minor improvement for the Western Link Road approximately 600m on the west side of the PPP Housing Site and other related works.

The project is funding by Saudi Fund for Development.

Earlier, during January 2012, The Ministry of Housing, Bahrain signed its first Public Private Partnership (PPP) with real estate and infrastructure development company Naseej.

The five-year PPP agreement encompasses building 3,110 social housing units and more than 1000 affordable homes across three different locations: North Bahrain New Town, Al Buhair, and Al Lawzi.

The BHD 208 Million deal, which is the first of its kind in the Gulf, aims to provide cheaper housing to needy citizens within three years and help reduce the government’s waiting list.
