L&T awarded a contract of $30.4 million for 380kV Transmission line of Marjan

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project for “Construction of 380kV Overhead Transmission line (OHTL) from Marjan 380kV BSP to Abu Hadriyah 380kV BSP”

The project location is in Marjan area, eastern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project has been awarded to Indian based construction Company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The value of signed contract is SAR 114,000,000.

During 2019,SEC received a total of ten bids from the contractors. After technical and commercial evaluation, the project has been awarded to contractor.

380kV Transmission line at Marjan:

This project will feed the power to proposed Marjan increment programs  project of Saudi Aramco. The Project Scope of Work involves following:

Construction of one 380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission line from the existing Abu Hadriyah 380kV BSP to proposed Marjan 380 BSP, for which L&T was the lowest bidder.

The approximate route length of OHTL is 51.76km

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new transmission line work and communication work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor need achieve Final Acceptance of the works by 26 months from Contract Signing Date.

Recently, L&T awarded the Project of 380kV Transmission line related to Hawiyah Unaizah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS).  The value of the contract was $61.5 million.
