Al Sharif Group secures a contract of $10.4million for 132kV Transmission line in Jazan

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project “Construction of 132kV Overhead Transmission line at Al Aridah, Ayban and Ad Dayir 132kV Substation”.

The project location is in Jazan area, southern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project has been awarded to Saudi based construction Company, Al Sharif Group for Contracting and Trading (ASG).

The value of Signed Contract is SAR 39,200,000.

Earlier, during December 2019, a total of five bidders has submitted the proposals (read more).

After technical, commercial and local content evaluation, the project has been awarded to the contractor.

Project Description:

Design and Construction of new 132kV Double Circuit (D/C) Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL), from existing AL ARIDAH Substation towards existing AYBAN Substation.

Cut open one circuit of the existing 132kV D/C OHTL between AYBAN and AD DAYIR and looping it to the new 132kV D/C OHTL.

This shall establish the required interconnection of the three substations by 132kV Single Circuit OHTL.

It is also required to upgrade the capacity of the existing AYBAN – AD DAYIR 132kV D/C OHTL including replacement of OGW to OPGW.

The termination cables at AYBAN and AD DAYIR substations shall also be replaced to match the upgraded capacity of the OHTL.

The work shall also include the upgrading/modifications of protection, relay settings, SCADA, SAS and telecommunication of the three substations, including software, hardware, OS and all other supplies as required.

The New OHTL D/C route Length is 27.9 km

Reconductoring with Ostrich Conductor D/C line route length is 16.5 km.

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 24 months from Contract Signing Date.
