L&T awarded a contract of 380kV & 230kV Transmission line of Hawiyah Unaizah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS)

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project for “Construction of 380kV and 230kV Overhead Transmission line (OHTL) to Hawiyah Unaizah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS) BSP”

The project location is in Hawiyah area, eastern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project has been awarded to Indian based construction company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The value of signed contract is SAR 138 million.

Earlier, during October 2019, A total of eight bidders has submitted the proposals. Upon technical, commercial and localization evaluation, the project has been awarded to contractor.

380kV & 230kV Transmission line for HUGRS:

This project will feed the power to proposed Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS) project for Saudi Aramco. The Project Scope of Work involves three Portions:

Portion 1:

Construction of one 380kV Double Circuit OHTL from the on-going Haradh 380/230kV BSP up to the proposed Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS) 380/230kV BSP.

Portion 2:

Construction of Two (2) 230kV Single Circuit OHTL from the proposed Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS) to Saudi Aramco 230kV Substation approximately 580.0 meters long (Line A) and 639.0 meters long (Line B) is also part of this project.

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new transmission line WORK and communication work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor need achieve Final Acceptance of the works by 23 months from Contract Signing Date.

The substation portion of the project has been awarded to Alfanar Construction Company. (read more)
