L&T awarded $179million 380kV OHTL contracts in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Electricity Company awarded the construction of 380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) between Rafha, Qaisumah and Arar.

The Projects has been awarded to India based construction firm, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T).

The combined value of the Projects is around SAR 671,400,000 (USD 179,040,000).

Al Yamamah Steel Industries Co. will supply the required towers for the project (read more)

380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) between Rafha and Qaisumah:

Earlier, during September 2020, SEC received eleven bidders proposals for the project. (read more)

The project involves the design and construction of one (1) 380kV OHTL to connecting the Rafha BSP and Qaisumah BSP In Northern region of Saudi Arabia

Approximate route length of OHTL is 326.93 km.

The project involves using of 4-795 kcmil ACSR/AW CONDOR conductor per phase and two (2) OPGW along the length of the new line.

The new OHTL will be installed on latticed steel tower in vertical configuration.

The project involves the design and construction of two (2) 380kV OHTL to connecting the Arar BSP and Rafha BSP In Northern region of Saudi Arabia

Approximate route length of OHTL is 334.70 km.

The project involves using of 4-795 kcmil ACSR/AW CONDOR conductor per phase and two (2) OPGW along the length of the new line.

The new OHTL will be installed on latticed steel tower in vertical configuration

As per the terms of the project, the Contractor will perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new OHTL work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor need to complete the project activities within 24 months from the date of contract award.
